What the company holds
Residential and commercial property, bought and registered in the company's own name, and held for the long term unless there is a reason to do otherwise.
Residential
The residential holdings are ordinary buildings of the kind found on ordinary streets: houses, flats formed within older houses, and flats in purpose-built blocks. They are held to be lived in, and they are let on written tenancies directly by the company.
Repair and improvement are handled as an owner handles them, not as an agent does. Where work is needed, the company arranges it. Where a building is worth spending money on, the money is spent. That is the whole reason for owning rather than managing.
Commercial
The commercial holdings are let to businesses on written leases. The mix of use, the length of term and the terms of repair differ from one building to the next, and they are set out in the lease for that building rather than in a general statement here.
The company deals with its commercial tenants directly. There is no intermediary and no client account: the landlord and the owner are the same party.
Why no schedule is published
This site does not list the company's properties, their addresses, their values or the tenancies over them. Those are the private affairs of the company and of the people who occupy the buildings, and publishing them would serve neither.
Where a particular property is relevant to your enquiry, the position on that property is confirmed to you in writing. That is a more useful answer than a page of stock photographs, and it is one the company can stand behind.
Looking for somewhere?
Availability changes, and nothing on this site should be read as an offer of a particular property. Tell the company what you need — residential or commercial, the sort of space, and when — and it will be checked against what is genuinely available at the time.
Have something to offer?
The company considers property offered to it, and occasionally sells. Approaches are read whether they come from an owner, a solicitor or an agent.
The company's position, in short
- Property is owned by Petley Limited and held in its own name.
- Letting is done by the company itself, on written terms.
- The company holds no money for anyone else and acts for no one else.
- Nothing on this page is an offer, and nothing binds the company until it is confirmed in writing.
